[C] Ain't life strange...[Am]...ain't it funny
[G#m?] Nothin matters much but [D/F#] love and Money...
[F] Things don't work out [G] the way you reckon...
[C] Money comes first and the [C] love comes [G] second

[E7] Cigarettes make the sun come up
[Am] Whiskey makes the sun go down...
[D/F#] And in between [G] we do alot of standin [C] around

It's all [Am] I can do to [F] make it through the [C] day
She [C] wrapped it all in darkness and [C] I can't find my [G] way

And I'm [C] walkin down the side[Dm] walks [E7] of [F] L [C] A, wishin I had a warmer [G] jacket
And the [G7]leaves are fallen [C] down. [C7]
I'm [F] just another [G] man with an [C] empty handed [F] heart
In an [C] empty hearted town...[G]

[C] Started out all right.... [Am] Ended up all wrong
[G#m?] shoulda done... [D/F3] shoulda done
That's my [C] song

[Am] Now the [D/F#] night has fallen, [G] hard and [C] fast
[F] All dressed up for the masquer[G]ade
And the [G7] lights of the [C] city, stretch as [F] far as the [C] eyes can [Dm] see [C]
[B] Look what [F] wonders man has [Dm] made
[B] Look what [F] wonders man has [G] made\

And I'm [C] walkin down the side[Dm] walks [E7] of [F] L [C] A wishin I had a warmer [G] jacket
And the [G7]leaves are fallen [C] down. [C7]
I'm [F] just another [G] man with an [C] empty handed [F] heart
In an [C] empty hearted town...[G]
And I'm [C] walkin down the side[Dm] walks [E7] of [F] L [C] A, wishin I had a warmer [G] jacket
And [G7] something more to [C] say.

Any improvements, let me know.

As for the mystery chords in the beginning, this is what I figured out:

2x433x

Nothin' matters much but

4x645x

Love and money

I play these by using my thumb on the low E string, and my index, middle and ring fingers to get the other notes on the higher strings. Whatever the chords are, they're an F# in the bass on the first one, and then a G# in the bass. Playing it with your thumb allows for a very easy transition.

Here's a screenshot of what I've got on guitar for the intro (fingerpicking), as I've been tabbing it out in Guitar Pro:

Image

If that image isn't loading, here it is written out:

--------------------------3-----2-------------------0-----2--------------
--3---1h3---1-----3------------------------3------------------3------2---
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
--0------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------3------------2------------0-----------------------0-----------
-----------------------------------------------------3----------------------

Fingering is as follows:

I play it starting with my ring finger on the 3rd fret of the B, then index finger on the 1st fret of the B, then middle finger grabs the 3rd fret of the A while the index finger stays in place, ring finger gets 3rd fret again, then I switch to index finger on 2nd fret of the A and ring finger on 3rd fret of the high E.

Then I release the ring finger and the middle finger gets the 2nd fret of the high E, ring finger gets 3rd fret on the B, middle finger gets 3rd fret on the low E, index finger gets 2nd fret on the high E, then ring finger on 3rd of the B, then index finger gets 2nd fret of the B.

This fingering allows you to hold the bass notes so they can ring out while you continue the melody, which IMO is pretty important.

I don't have it all figured out yet, and have just been referring to this tab, with success:

https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/w/warr ... wn_crd.htm

But I use the chords I mentioned earlier, which I'm pretty confident are the right ones.

The song sounds like it's slightly lower than standard pitch, maybe around a quarter tone. I just play it in standard tuning on guitar but if I play it with the recording, my guitar sounds slightly higher. But I follow the chords in that tab, starting with D, then going to Bm, and so on.
